Genevi\u00e8ve joined Caza Saikaley after completing her articles with the firm in 2019-2020. Prior to returning as a lawyer, Genevi\u00e8ve served as a judicial law clerk to the Honourable Justice Sylvie E. Roussel at the Federal Court of Canada. Genevi\u00e8ve obtained both her J.D. and her LL.L. at the University of Ottawa in the Canadian Law Program, a combined and comparative program of common law and civil law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Genevi\u00e8ve has an avid interest in mooting. In 2019, she represented the University of Ottawa in the Charles-Rousseau International Moot Court Competition, where she received one of the top ten oralist prizes. Genevi\u00e8ve also helped organize and mooted in the Exchequer Cup, a moot court competition by and for law clerks of the Federal Courts. She and her moot partner went all the way to the finals. Today, Genevi\u00e8ve continues to be involved in many moots on a yearly basis, including as a judge at the national round of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and at the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Law Moot and, more recently as a coach for a team of Federal Court law clerks at the Exchequer Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Genevi\u00e8ve is bilingual and practices in French and English. She has represented clients in all levels of court in Ontario and New Brunswick, including the Small Claims Court of Ontario, the Superior Court of Justice for Ontario and the King\u2019s Bench of New Brunswick, the Divisional Court of Ontario, the Court of Appeal of Ontario and the Court of Appeal of New Brunswick, as well as the Supreme Court of Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When she is not at the office, Genevi\u00e8ve can be found at the pool or in the theatre, on stage or in the audience. Genevi\u00e8ve has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Great Canadian Theatre Company since December 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
