Biography

Charles maintains a general civil litigation practice in both official languages, with a focus on commercial disputes and public law, including judicial review and Charter remedies. Charles also practices in the areas of employment and defamation law.

Before joining the firm, Charles was a judicial law clerk to the Honourable Mr. Justice Denis Gascon of the Federal Court (2017-2018) and to the Honourable Madam Justice Johanne Gauthier of the Federal Court of Appeal (2018-2019). Before his clerkships, Charles worked as a trainee in the international arbitration practice group of a global dispute resolution firm in Paris, France.

During law school, Charles acted as a senior advocate for students facing disciplinary proceedings and was the executive director of the student-led mediation clinic. Charles also participated in an executive-level training seminar on mediating disputes at Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation.
